Product badges

A sale shows its percentage. “New” works itself out. And nothing invents urgency.

WooCommerce shows a Sale! badge without ever saying by how much. The number is what the visitor is looking for, and it can be worked out — nobody should have to type it.

What happens on its own

  • A product on sale shows its discount: -13%. On a variable product, it is the largest discount — the one the visitor will see when choosing.
  • A recent product shows New. How recent is up to you: Harmony Sound → Settings → Shop → A product stays “new” for, in days. Zero turns it off — you should not have to disable the whole plugin to be rid of a badge.
  • Out of stock comes first, in muted grey. It is the only information that changes what the visitor can do, and it is said, not shouted.

Forcing a badge

Products → edit a product → the “Badge” tab. Type your own text, and pick a colour. Leave the text empty to go back to automatic.

What the theme will not do

No “only 2 left!” when stock is not tracked. No countdown without an end date. An urgency that is not real is noticed, and it costs more than it earns.
