Wishlist and compare

One mechanism for both. The list follows a logged-in visitor from one device to the next.

Harmony Sound → Settings → Shop. Each can be turned off on its own.

A heart and a compare arrow appear on each card and on the product page.

Where the lists are stored

  • Logged in — in the visitor’s user metadata, so the list follows them from one device to the next.
  • Anonymous — in a cookie, the only place available without creating an account behind their back. It holds nothing but product IDs.

At login, the anonymous list is merged into the account’s. Losing it at that exact moment would be the worst possible timing.

The two pages

The demo installs them: /wishlist and /compare. On your own store, create a page and put the shortcode in it:

[hb_envies]
[hb_comparateur]

Compare is a table

Because comparing means reading a row from one end to the other. The first column stays visible while you scroll sideways, otherwise you lose track of which row you are reading.

A row no product fills in is dropped: a column of dashes teaches nothing.
