Instant search
Products first, pages after. It uses WordPress's search, so your plugins still apply.
The magnifier in the header opens a panel. Type two letters and the results arrive.
Products first — that is what people come to a shop for — then pages and posts, clearly separated.
No invented ranking
The query goes through WP_Query, so any search plugin you install keeps
working. Products hidden from the catalogue are excluded: a visitor could not
reach them any other way.
Two guards you will not see
- The request is delayed by a quarter of a second. Typing
headphonesfires one request, not ten. - A late answer never replaces a newer one. Without that, a slow request overwrites the result of a fast one and the visitor sees the thing they just corrected come back.
Turning it off
Harmony Sound → Settings → Header → Show search. The magnifier disappears and the panel is not loaded at all.
